Oh Obama

Originally this was going to be DJ's blog. But I have decided that it will be our general political blog. DJ and I do not have TV, so we don't watch it, therefore we miss out on movie previews, news, and the o-so-rousing Obama speech's. Thus, we did not even hear about this video till yesterday.

The 'I Pledge' video was created by members of hollywood in support of Obama's administration. I had to laugh a little at some of their 'pledges'. Like one actor who said he pledged to meet his neighbors. I wonder if he actually did that....Or one who said he would plant 500 trees in one year. That's more than one a day! Do they plan on doing it themselves of simply investing thier vast wealth into paying someone else to do it? It's laughable that hollywood would ever think the general public would support them in this, ever think that we would personally relate to their "expertise". Forget political scientists, economists, and law experts, who have consistently advised against the policies of the Obama Administration. We should trust those who are disalusioned by real life and who end the video by saying "I pledge to be Obama's servant" not servants of the United States, defending the liberties we desperately try to uphold like the millions of American Soldiers putting thier lives on the line for those same liberties.

It's frustrating the way the American political system has evolved. How if you're good looking, tall, and a great orator, you can be placed in one of the most powerful positions in the country and world, despite the fact you have virtually no experience, your voting record is as shady as a woodland forest, and you can't seem to remember what to say if a teleprompter isn't right in front of your face. Forget about patriotism, you can bow to the king of a dictator nation, while ignoring the customs of your own countries flag and citizens will still feel you are in line with your presidential duties. You can hug the queen of England despite hundreds of year old traditions, you can have beer socials in the white house for domestic disputes, and you can take Airforce one out for a $350,000 dollar tax payer spin, but if others disagree with you, you simply classify them as "right wing domestic terrorists". You can do all these things, because you are Obama. And there are some who are ignorant enough to believe your calvalier ways.

However, some would say that Obama is the greatest thing for the republican party, which may have some merit of truth. More americans now are aligning as conserative than ever before. You can't thow socialistic habits on Americans in a downfall recession. Health care in the way that it is set up will cost trillions of dollars. Obama pledges he will only tax the upper class, but unfortunately economists agree that in order to pay for so big a thing, the middle class will feel many of the effects in raised taxes. The worst thing you can do in a recession is raise taxes for anyone. Aparently Obama thinks his good luck will pull the hood over his ignorance.

There is a lot of hope for America though. The more Obama is in the spotlight, the less Americans like him. So, bring on the media. They think they are helping him, but in the end it will be his demise, especially if they forget the teleprompter.

  1. Love the picture "so we'll improve the economy by taking money out of it, then putting it back in and taxing it as we put it back in."

    definition: Obamanomics:
    "1: the science of attempting to make money by spending money you don't have;
    2: the science of taking money from those who earn it in order to give it to those who are unwilling to earn it;
    3: the science of rewarding failure at the expense of those who succeed;
    In all cases, this science has proven to fail over and over again (see: Insanity, France, USSR)"
